This will be our last newsletter for the 2009-2010 school year. First, let me convey my appreciation to you, the parents, for all your support to the school this year. You have shown awesome participation for school functions. I appreciate the input, ideas and concerns you have shared with me about making Merry a better school. After all, the “school” is not the brick and mortar, but the children, parents, faculty, staff, and administration.

Just a few last items before the school year ends and summer vacation begins:
• If you have a student entering Kindergarten, please come to the school by May 21st and register them. This includes our pre-k students. All other returning students will register once we return to school.
• The CRCT scores are in. For grades 1 – 5, you should have received a letter with your child’s scores on Friday. If you did not, please notify the school
• We have Honors Assemblies all this week. Please check the calendar on the reverse side.
• On Tuesday evening at 6PM, the John Deere Corporation will be recognized at the Richmond County Board Meeting for their participation and support this year with our diversity program. Please show your appreciation by joining us at the Board meeting.

Again, thank you for another successful year. With so much uncertainty with regards to education (budget, furlough days, etc.), please rest assured that the faculty and staff at A. Brian Merry will continue to do our best to give your child a superior educational experience. To those with students moving on to middle school, don’t be a stranger. To those returning parents, I look forward to seeing you in the fall. It’s indeed a pleasure to be your child’s principal.
